Specter

As I stumble through the valley
As a shadow of a man
I still hear the cry of strangers
See their faces in the sand
My eyes have lost their color
Like pearls of ancient seas
I've grown as blind as justice
As young as peace

Got no sense of direction
Only starlight guides my way
On this long, familiar journey
I haven't been since yesterday
There's a river on the east side
And a raven to my right
Looks like he won't be eatin'
For another night

My inner demon's always dreaming
Of taking the dark to the day

They say that spirits all live in the past

For a fam'ly of my own
