3 am has always been magical. Going back years sometimes I intentially awaken or else something wakes me. I dont question how or why , but alone in the studio with a candle at that hour is special. Its why I did this intentionally at that hour.
We used to do that alot to get that magical take back in the day.

This was intentially done at 3 am in a room of candles and I woke them just to play it for them.

I record in the early morning after a little breakfast.
This is the time I pick up my guitar and because I never have a song in my mind to start, I am going to compose some new ideas/licks etc.
I record these ideas daily although I will probably never touch them. Very rarely I use my Computer and the DAW to finish songs.
I have uploaded 100 plus x songs to the net and I bet this collection gives a fair and true view of what I might have done in the other 1000 songs.

Yeah..I get up at 2 am with my wife...she's out the door at 3am. Coffee, then usually here to see what's going on..then next thing ya know it's noon. :| And because of that I am sawing logs about 5 pm :):o

Friday/Saturday evening about 11 PM

Kids - in the bed
Wife - kiss for good night and bed

Workers - back in home or in the hotel ... anyway there is small risk to recive bad call. I can't sleep well If I know someone is on the way...

Finally I don't have to keep my phone in the pocket... my mind is free and ready for playing...

I live in the flat so I need to connect all my toys together in the salon...

I start playing about midnight. Usually my plan is for max 3 hour but I never did like this. I'm loosing time controll or honestly... I don't care about clock. Today first time I looked on the watch it was 6 am...

Anyway... I'm playing weekends when I can clean my mind completly. I tried couple times to play in the middle of week, but there is somewhere in my mind little part of day behind / before me...

Now I'm so happy that my Doughter have just 2yo and She's still taking nap during the day. Now She's sleeping and I'm about to join...

Anytime I can get the chance. Some days work is much harder than others just don't have the UMP. Slip into my man cave if I get the go ahead from the misses. Usually wait for some hot guitar tracks that always starts the creative process. G

Don't have that much time during weekdays, because I leave early, and when I return there's also wife & kid. So late evenings, except on weekends when anything goes.

Night time on the weekends, when no work lurks around and I can be by myself doing what I love :)

Working at night so after sleeping until cooking diner (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
Playing everyday with or without (good) ideas or recording.

And the best day is often Monday morning (rest at 4 p.m. for week attack but wake up at 7 a.m. and plugged at 8 :).

If lazy kids (20 & 22 yo) still sleeping:
- don’t care or
- Keyboards or Drums (EZDrummer... I’m not an insane father, drummer neither)
- Mixing
- World of Warcraft

Week end is random but stuff is in our bedroom so I never play at night and I also must deal with moments for intimacy/couple/family life!

1. Late night. Nearly silenced records have, for some reason, become the most satisfying results & powerful jams.
2. Fav time 8-11pm, the quick ones. Tend to grow epic.
3. Right after you wake up. Refreshed. Still outer space. Most surprising and the only time i truly jam. Requires extrasolar dreams. Easy :)
