i'm usually a man of short words or just no words and a thumb :) but i have lots to say about this.
sometimes vox gives a track meaning and the pieces fit and make sense. this does exactly that. the pieces all work together now and your vision for the track is amazing. it's more than voice, but space and timing is all important as well. this encompasses all those aspects so that the underlying instrument parts all make better sense now.
the vocal pieces are done in a way to highlight peaks and valleys, as the track seems to be envisioned in that way by AmomentB. even the drum rolls and tom builds at 2:44 with the silence just give you a feeling that something is building, a culmination. curious of what AmomentB thinks, as it's his initial vision, as the drums are put forth in a way, for a specific idea or design.
of course the mix of vocal styles gives the listener a bit of everything. some whispers, low tonal styles, demonic screams...it's all there :W
lastly, your maturation as vocalist has been cool to listen to. you've always had a great voice, now we're hearing it through maybe different hardware and processing. sounding great. whatever your vocal chain is, lock it in, it's sounding top notch.
kudos Josh, exquisite work :W
finally, totally unrelated, but you popped into my mind a few weeks ago. i was on my way to work, just listening to what the algorithm was feeding me. this track came up and i immediately thought it was you! the opening vocals, i had to look at the band/track to see if this was you or what haha :W
