Lazyprune Thank you Patrick. :) For me, this instrument is really an extension of myself, sometimes melancholic, sometimes completely weird. Is it we who choose our instrument or is it him who chooses us? 🙄 +0

Lazyprune It is the sound of this instrument that called me. A so particular sound. His incredible ability to make all kinds of very different sounds, peaceful or sharp like a scream. It is normally made to play pieces from the classical Japanese repertoire, but it can do much more. I am very far from mastering this instrument, which despite its simplicity of construction is complex to play. What struck me the most is that you can play all the sounds that exist between two Western notes, there’s a whole world between an E and a F for example, which I had no idea. It’s possible to do it with other instruments, like the saxophone. This idea pleased me so much, the universe of sounds does not stop where some decided to stop it. What about your choice of the Saxophone? :) +1

PatrickDA A more prosaic story. Someone owed my step-father money but did not have it and instead traded an old Soprano sax. This was in the mid fifties when I was 15 and getting into jazz (Sidney Bechet and others) so he gave me the sax. A fine gift which I still have:) +1
