A truly wonderful template from Mario. A bit of experimentation with this one... Trying to run somewhere between a countermelody and either polyrhythmic or free style lines. So the sax is seldom in sync/rhythm with the bass and percussion. Does it work? Maybe too chaotic? Let us know your thoughts!

Wade If you mean the part where the volume drops down, it's a simple trick: lower the volume and add reverb. Makes it sound like it's coming from a distance. I actually had in mind (musically interpreted) bird song... which I then (lamely) try to answer (again musically). Otherwise it's a study in not playing the rhythm and still trying to make it feel OK. +1

PaulM44 Yes, I think your experiment was successful with the birdsong--it fits nicely with the genre. Lately I have been using more 50-50 reverb and delay to get effects I couldn't get before. My new favorite is Air Delay Pro. +1

I've always thought that the difference between a beginner and an experienced player is that the beginner makes everything sound hard, and the experienced player make everything sound easy.
