The Batu Steps
A beautiful Marimba track from Titus to which I’ve added soprano saxophone. The title I’ve given this piece stems from my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur a place we have visited many times before but never got around to climbing up to the Batu caves a short train ride from the city. 272 steps to the top each one numbered. I hear in your every note the inspiration of the Batu caves. I saw Sonny Rollins one night play in a NYC "dive" friends took me to after midnight after work and it was the ONLY time I could not believe how "off" he was. I have listened to most of your albums, videos, etc.. and I never heard an "off" performance telling me just how much you put into being "on". Then when your inspiration level reaches a new high you take it to another level like here!!!! Beyond Superb, Alex.
