I just downloaded your Song for Bella #2 working behind M4fp. i’m eager to get back to music after week of hosting out-of-country relatives. I’m not confident this translator is accurate.

This is really lovely Paul! +1

PaulM44 Thanks Wade, I hope your tour has been enjoyable despite the hot moist Indonesian 32 C! +1
Wade
Wade I wish I was in Indonesia. Am in Australia and just finishing a bout with Covid. Could be worse as I'm evading New Zealand winter (cold and wet) and enjoying 23 C days with lots of sunshine. Going down to Cairns today and likely to be around 27 C. My kind of winter. +1

PaulM44 I hope you recover quickly--I just got my 2nd booster last week and have not needed public transportation and am only shopping locally hoping to avoid it. It is staying much cooler here at 22 C but Texas is already near 38 C.
So are you still going to get to go on tour?

Wade
Wade Not doing a tour. Just have a couple of gigs here in Australia. No big deal. A local band doing local gigs, pubs and public band rotunda stuff. The main challenge is in not practicing with them year-round and having to pick up on new tracks with maybe only one rehearsal. +1
PaulM44
PaulM44 Yikes! Sounds like you’ll need to rely on playing by ear and intuition from past performances. But then you’re a natural. :Y +1
Wade
Wade That's generally what happens anyway as they don't have arrangements and expect me to come up with my own part. OK if it's something that's logical. A bit more difficult if I've never heard it or it's tricky. Hearing three times is usually enough. One practice/hearing isn't. +1
PaulM44
PaulM44 If they are really good, when you go off track on a new piece, they should be able to go with you and then work back to the theme. Otherwise it’s like playing in an orchestra—not like jazz. +1
Wade
Wade Unfortunately only one other player in this group has improvisation chops. The rest are all "readers" who are barely able to remember their written parts. +1
