New Ways Of Living

As our TVs got slimmer, our bellies got fatter.
our brains became dimmer, our phones became flatter.
As real stores declined we became more confined
to super-tech places and virtual spaces
Our memories are stored deep inside our PCs
And music's produced without strings, drums or keys
We get all our answers from Google et al
We go shopping at Amazon, pay with Paypal.
Our life is controlled now by silicon chips
as we suck surplus fat from our bums, thighs and hips.
Our spelling is checked, our grammar corrected
With apps to protect us if we are infected
Now we don't talk, we text... so whatever comes next ?
We'll forget how to walk and we won't breathe fresh air
We'll just sit watching screens in our big gaming chair
as our clothes become bigger, to cover a figure
that grows by the day... and we can't find our way
without SatNav in cars we'll be led by the stars
but unlike those Wise Men on that first Christmas Day
we'll hang onto the gold and throw wisdom away
