This tune appeared in my head some time ago so I spent some time yesterday to bring it into a form and record it ;)

SoulFingers Maybe it helps relaxing a bit after a hard day Shi ;) Thanks for listening :) +1
LittleWing
Very sweet! Did you mic the guitar? +1
SoulFingers
SoulFingers Thanks for listening Joe ;) I've only used the piezo and preamp built into my Takamine EAN10C. No additional mics ;) +2
LittleWing
LittleWing Sounds great! I have a Takamine G30 CE. If you ever need anything like a lower bridge on that see this guy. He made me some different bridges that go over the piezo and lower the action. If you give hime some measurements he will calculate exactly how much to drop the height. He does single and double bridge pieces. He can also tell you what a popular action height is without string buzz.He is authorized by Takamine too.

SoulFingers
SoulFingers Thanks, that's a great hint! Especially since this particular Takamine has a two-part bridge 👍🏻
I love this guitar - it sounds very rich and plays like a charm.

LittleWing I have the double. No shims underneath . He asked me to measure with a caliper pencil marks where the strings sat. He has a machine that will cut those with very high tolerance. Mine is effortless to play and no string buzz anywhere. I think he said his most popular reduction was 1.0mm. He can tell you if work it all out before he does any work. I now play Ernie Ball Earthwoods where as before I was going lighter strings to compensate. I like 80/20 strings on mine but Thomastik makes these AC110 strings which are ultra light and make playing ridiculously easy. They are different because they are low tension. However I was not crazy they were steel. They recorded fine. These have great reviews anywhere you look.

SoulFingers Sounds good - also the strings you mention. I recently put Elixir 80/20 .011 on mine and still have to struggle a bit to play them fluent ;) +1
LittleWing
LittleWing Supposedly all Takamines have shims under the piezos . You can remove all but one of them. You should check that first. I would do it before a string change that way you can use the old strings to test before replacing them. Here is a post describing how to do it for your model. The piezo pieces are fragile but not super fragile. Stick your hand in the soundhole, feel for the wires and just push up while wiggling the wire. https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=698091&highlight=takamine+saddle +1
SoulFingers
SoulFingers Thats an awesome post Joe - until you are a pro like Joey you completely would have to take the guitar apart to find out about the shims. I'll definately try that with the next string replacement! Thanks so much :W +1
LittleWing
LittleWing I cant stress enough how important it is to keep track of the direction the saddles face. If you flip them over , it will look correct until you figure out your G string is lower then all the others. So use a fine marker and put a dot on the saddles somewhere so you know which way they face. Yes I did that.I thought I could remember ...um no...mark everything with a dot.

This guitar sounds awesome.

SoulFingers
SoulFingers Good hint... and seems funny that it's almost always the G string that causes trouble if something in the setup is not perfect ;)

This guitar is inspiring... and also has a nice history, because it used to belong to an old friend of mine, and it seems that many songs have already been played on it ;)

SoulFingers
SoulFingers Thanks for listening Thierry - there are stories about this guitar and also behind the title. Maybe that's what is shimmering through a bit. Glad you like it ;) +1

titi It's a track that makes you happy because it's generous. It is turned towards others because first of all it tells a great story, and because it will delight many other musicians who want to join. In short, a smart track ;) +1
