Un jour, un homme médite au bord d’une rivière
Les crues de printemps ont gonflé son lit
Au loin, le bruit des chutes est plus fort que jamais
et il emplit l’horizon d’un brouillard tumultueux
Soudain, des cris alertent le promeneur.
En amont, un adorable faon et un petit enfant frêle se débattent contre les flots
Qui les emportent inexorablement vers la cascade et vers une mort certaine.
Le courant est fort et il faut faire vite.
Il court jusqu’à un promontoire surplombant la rivière.
En se penchant, il peut, bras tendu, sauver l’un des deux en l’attrapant au passage.
Seulement l’un des deux.
Un grand dilemme l’étreint.
Sauver l’enfant, c’est faire le choix de l’homme au nom de sa supériorité sur l’animal.
Sauver le faon, c’est le contraire, donc la même chose.
Alors quoi ? Sauver Baby ? ou sauver Bambi ?
Faire un choix, c’est faire un mauvais choix.
Alors, laissons faire la nature, laissons faire la nature

L’homme se releva et regarda passer les deux êtres qu’il se refusait à classer
