The chalenge was not to be distracted by the vocal performance and adjust the tunnel vision only on the melody cause it's a beautifull singing. Option in G major (but with a Leveled degree V in D Min 7). thanks to YuuLi for this afternoon in music

Very difficult to fit with an acapella singer who's not quite on pitch. Your accompaniment is spot on. +2
StJray
StJray YuuLi uses microtonality, pitch and temperament ... This is the tree of the challenge, we must use the appropriate chords and / or instruments! Yes, difficult to fit! :D +2
Wade
Wade I'll have to remember to tell people I'm using microtonality next time I'm told I'm out of tune. Works well in Indian Music. +1
StJray
StJray Yes, in Indian music and ...:D
I wanted to talk about that ...

wjl Also explained in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9Zv6MGdh7Y - with Ibrahim Maalouf as a counter example :)
Edit: sorry; Ibrahim is explained by Christian McBride in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BDnLCQ18pk - but both videos are worth it in my opinion... :)

Wade
Wade Hey guys...a little bit of levity? To quote YuuLi: "I registered it with a metronome, and a piano note in the back (G) — still not perfectly in tune." I don't think she was aiming for microtones (according to her).

I teach Ethnic music courses. My special areas of interest are Turkish, Indian, Gamelan, and some African.

As the videos clearly demonstrate there is nothing accidental about the pitches in those other tunings, they are precise. We are not doing a good job of promoting those other types of music if rationalizing out of tune equal temperament music that's off pitch as intentionally belonging to another type of tuning. Lets go with LuuLi's honesty instead.

Nice videos, with better explanations than I've used in the past (mostly natural harmonics and mathematical).
