In country songs is important to give this "Boom-Chick" feeling for bass, no matter how to do it, but this sound must stay for the whole song. You reached the goal, so no worry: good job! :) +1

But i have problems finding a good line with the bass. I am learning. +1

blubasso If you use root-5th alternate, in country music, you can play all country songs (in 4/4) you want. And the Boom-Chick suits perfectly with root/5th. Not really need to find some "strange" notes combinations. You can always expand your bass line with other notes between the two I mentioned. :) ;) +1
