Someone told me long ago
That when it rains sometimes it a pour
And they told me not to worry too much
About the rain as it pours
Because there come a day
When it won’t rain no more they say
Now lord knows I got this field to put in
Lord knows in the hot months of the summer I pray for rain
I’ve got to get this field going
To harvest in and make some pay
My family doesn’t take it so good
When the rain refuses to come down
Now when it rains like it suppose to in the summer
The harvest always grows …Looking so damn pretty standing there…. so tall
But if that rain don’t come falling
My shit just kind of just lies there on the ground
And I depend on the rain
Too feed my family and pay my way
But most of the time I looked up above
Pray to the old mighty man for rain
Sometimes he answers back
Ah lord with buckets and buckets of rain
Than I can harvest my fields
Pay my bills let it rain…let it rain
