Stole Lenny's drums to compliment this thread. To be clear, Lenny Cowler is the drummer! Thanks, Lenny!

DrStrgeglv "Oh, to be young again!" +2
Philgox
Philgox So right!
Untill now I thought I only could make a good jam in a dark cave full of smoke and beer cans with guys wearing Dr Martins and dreadlocks.
Today in my 46 year I discover I can do it on the internet and I feel young again! 😉

Ernie440

DrStrgeglv Wasteful- think of all that extra ink, etc! +0
Ernie440
I play along with drums all the time but have no idea how you find tracks to fit like that and then make them fit.. GREAT JOB!! :O +1
DrStrgeglv
DrStrgeglv The bass came first this time- Lenny's solo track was already fit to slin's template... just stuck it, then adjusted timing in 1ms increments until it popped... (yawn). Easy! +1
Ernie440
Ernie440 ahh you're right that is super easy ... lol .. didn't bother to look if Lenny already did his thang! d'oh! :D:D Still sounds good tho .. kudos! :W +1
DrStrgeglv
DrStrgeglv No... I meant to say that I sampled each element of Lenny's kit, then handcrafted them into this arrangement one frame at a time... by cutting and splicing cassette tapes- really hard to do! +1
Ernie440
Ernie440 adjusting the timing in increments is a cool comment .. I read that before and it does work .. somewhat wrote that I think it was 40 ms for bass one way or the other really adds punch (40 may be high) ... so I've tried that at times and it seems to work, although I have to think that the DAW may actually be slightly out of synch .. so that's why I "think" it sounds better ... ahh whatever! (lol at the splicing cassette tape comment) hahaha!! +1
DrStrgeglv
DrStrgeglv Yeah... I really have no idea how the drum track sat in the other mix by comparison. Just like tuning a string... the ear is the best fine tuner. +1
Ernie440
Ernie440 the ear is .. yep .. that's it in a nutshell! ... or an earhole ... +1
fblack
