My sister’s no longer,
That much I know.
She’s floating above us,
While I’m still here below.

She left us too quickly,
Her essence is missed.
She’s now with my family,
Where her spirit is kissed.

The sum of my sister,
Is too hard to measure
A life full of grandeur.
Memories we will treasure

Death comes to us all
Of that much I’m certain
How best to live
Before that final curtain.

We do not have proof,
Of what really happens,
I only know that,
She’s out of her trappings.

Now that she’s gone,
I take stock of myself.
Can I live better?
And get off of the shelf?

Focus on the presents
Not what you don’t have,
Be thankful for living,
And not what you can grab.

Sometimes I feel sorry,
Lamenting my woes,
Must stay in the present,
From my head to my toes.

Tomorrow’s uncertain,
We’re guaranteed of that,
Before death pulls us under,
Time to wear a new hat.
