Biografía
I'm an old boy, born in the 1940's. My first influence was the late, great, one and only Fats Domino, introduced to me by my older brother.
As I grew up in that golden age of music the names came thick and fast. Buddy Holly, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis....all American leading me on a beautiful musical journey.
Then came the greatest of all, The Beatles whom I used to see with all the other bands of Liverpool and Manchester at The Cavern, The Iron Door, The Twisted Wheel. Liked a touch of soul so The Wigan Casino weekends were essential. Then off to London...but that's another story, too long in the telling.
All these singers and places melded, developed and inspired a lifelong love of blues, rock, soul and bluegrass music that's as stong now as it ever was.
I taught myself to play guitar and piano but an accident left me with a wrist locked into position so I couldn't play those any more so I turned to blues harp and the great love of my later life, my tenor sax. Amazingly my injured wrist is locked into perfect position to play this incredible instrument which I do every day.
Wikiloops is an amazing platform to experiment with the styles of music that I never have had the opportunity to vocalize with. Thanks to all the excellent musicians/producers, the sound quality of the tracks are spectacular.
