The travel Agency offered me this flight schedule:

With that I have to add $119.00 for the train from ÀCologne to Kall.

It seems to me quite expensive and innefficient.

Do you think it would be a good idea for me to go to Paris ($900.00) and then take the train for Kall (about 125 euros) I wanted to go to Paris during this trip.

Last question: How cand I get from Kall to Urft? Is there a bus or another way to get there?

Hey Rob,
let me try to answer each of your questions one-by-one.
First of all, Urft has a Trainstation of its own (look for "Kall Urft Bf"), which is one stop later than Kall when coming from Cologne. Mind only every second train does stop there.
Secondly, 119$ USD sound way too expensive for the trip cologne airport / Urft, I will try to find out what it would cost to buy a ticket locally - I guess your travel agent was talking about the "Rail&Fly" offer of the german Railway (= "Bahn"), since Urft is not that far away from the airport, a standard ticket will be cheaper. Since the airport is about an hour car drive from Urft, we might as well come by and pick you up if that helps, chances are some more folks may be arriving at the same time. I wouldn't recommend buying that 119$ ticket now.

Concerning the Paris option, it does not make that much of a difference IMO - you will end up going Cologne to Urft either way.
For in-German cheap travels, you might want to check out the city-to-city bus connections which have been established in the past couple of years - these rides are slower than flying, but its possible to go Cologne->Berlin for some 40€s, which beats the Railway or flight prices by far.

Good news, just picked up a 'portable' Leslie clone, will be schlepping it to Urft if I can fit it into the car, in anticipation of numerous strong Wikiloopers that would rejoice in carrying it up the stairs in Urft.
